June 24, Tuesday, We arrived at the Badlands National Park today. We stayed
outside the park at Circle 10 Campground. There were very few campers here. We
were told to stay here because they were black topping the in the park
campground. We are here for 3 days to enjoy the park and area. The colors on the
rocks were so beautiful mostly at sunset. I even went over on Thursday at 8 am
to see the morning sunshine. Every turn thru the park had many shapes and colors
to see. We stopped at Visitors center to catch a 20 minute film about the park.
On Wednesday night
a thunder storm came thru and the campground in the park was pounded very hard.
Some tenters lost their tents due to the high winds, and went to local motels
for the night.
We saw even some
prairie dog in action in a lot nearby. The store sold peanuts to feed them. It
was fun to see people interact with them. The funniest was a little kid trying
to feed them. See the pictures ...
