Last day on Rt. 66

 August 19, Tuesday,
Today we took a drive back into Pontiac...to see the Mural Museum. Very interesting to see how the town was painted all over with the paintings on the wall. We also saw a special section where an artist does an invisible painting on dresses that only show up under a black light..see the pictures, it’s unbelievable to see them under light. Then there was also a Gold Leaf display on the history and the steps explained on how to apply the gold. There was a collection of pictures showing the artists that came  into the town to paint.
Then we followed Rt.66 north thru Odell and Dwight to see old gas stations along the way. Our last town north was Wilmington where we located the Gemini Giant at the Launching Pad restaurant. However the restaurant was closed, so I hope it opens again so Gemini can stay on the property for all to see.
We have reach the end of Rt. 66 that we want to travel, we are staying away from the Chicago traffic. Back to Pontiac for another day so we can catch up on laundry on Wednesday.
