Our Pull Thru Site #4 Full Hook-ups
Tonight we are here .....
Cool looking planter at the Entrance of Campground....
June 4, We leave camp at Barkcamp at 10 am (we are not early risers ) ..Today we cover about 300 miles again. We filled up with gas only $2.62/gal with discount. In Pa. it was $2.95 so we waited till Ohio to fill up. Followed Rt 70 to Indiana exiting at exit 131 at Straughn forNew Lisbon Family Campground. Full Hookups for $15.52 Pass Port Discount. The campground is well kept and all daily slots are pull thrus. There are permanents here too along the lake front, lots of golf carts too. I guess when you live in any campground it is necessary to own one. The weather was a steady 80* my kind of day.
For now I am just posting story pictures since we have passed this way in the past. When we get to Montana we will start to take tons of pictures ... Stand-by... See you down the road...

Day #1 June 3,2015 Wednesday
Here we arrive at Barkcamp State Park ...which does Carol want ...sleep in the cabin or Airstream ? She picked the Airstream....
More tire problems.... read below ....
We leave home at 10 am this am for the West ... Taking the Pa. Turnpike to New Stanton exit then taking Rt 70 West. Through West Virginia then Ohio to Belmont Exit. We drove 300 miles today arriving at 4:30 at Barkcamp State Park.
Picked site 148 with electric. We filled up with water at water station. Passport America cost only $10.50/nite. When backing in site, Mom said something is rattling at the wheel. She then drove forward so then I could listen, the noise was the right front tire. I backed it up on boards so that wheel was off the ground, no jacks needed. I pulled the wheel to inspect it, when I did the Dust cap over the brake drum fell off. I guess it worked itself off and was rolling around the inside of the wheel cover. So I putted it back on and remounted the wheel. That was easy so far, I can handle this. I now have pulled 2 wheels this week, I hope that's it for a while.
Now to relax while Mom makes supper...sure taste good tonight. Time to rest for tomorrow ...stay tuned...

Trip of 2015 ...Headin' for Alaska .....
June 2, 2015 , Here is last years map of the 2014 Trip. Time to get a new map so we can mark the Trip to the Northwest... Yes Alaska is the goal this year. We are leaving in the am , June 3rd, for the west. We plan each day as we go along with a final goal to see Alaska.
The Airstream is packed, clothes, food, etc. I know we packed too much(remember The Long Long Trailer, no rocks allowed.) The Dodge Hemi is packed also, Generator, Air Compressor, Grill, Chairs, extra spare tire(it makes 3 spares) also we packed 3 gas cans.
Today my son installed mud flaps to help keep the stone damage from hitting the Airstream. Oh..I did buy 4 new tires for the trailer a month ago, guess what, I got a flat already. The valve stem o-ring leaked so we replaced it with a new one. Now it is Ok . Well wish us Luck... we are leaving in 12 hours ... stay tuned for updates and pictures along the way...

Brookgreen Gardens , Murrells Inlet, SC.
March 11, 2015, This afternoon I drive across the highway from the campground
to Brookgreen Gardens, Murrells Inlet,SC. http://www.brookgreen.org/ to see this
Garden of many plants and artwork. The tickets are good for 7 days, it would take
that long to see this place. This was a project of the Huntingtons to display
their artwork and also their students work. They lived across the highway. See
the below blog next.
This place is so large and the maps provided
sure do map it out. I walked most of it. I believe I was about a month too early
to see the gardens in full bloom. But the sculptures were interesting to see.
Lots of talent here. I took a lot of pictures of here but if you want to see
more look at their web page. There are gardens, zoo, kids play land, many trails
to follow to see the sights indoor museums too. Here are my shots .. https://picasaweb.google.com/AirstreamHobo/BrookgreenGardens31115#6133350884872804802

Atalaya Castle
March 11, 2015 We arrive at
Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina, about 10 miles south of Myrtle Beach.
We stay at the park for 3 days at $36/night with water & electric. On the
grounds is an old mansion called Atalaya owned by the Huntington's, they were
artists and also sculptures of many statues. This is an all brick building was
artwork in itself. I enjoyed walking around the grounds and saw many rooms. Most
had fireplaces for heat. Being so close to the beach was perfect place to live
and relax.
Here are some of the pictures I took... https://picasaweb.google.com/AirstreamHobo/AtalayaMansionInSouthCarolina#
